Uncial Lettering and Celtic Knots

The UNCIAL lettering style is a gem to have in your calligraphy skillset. Learn this graceful and treasured alphabet which was popular in monasteries throughout the 4th-12th centuries. Well known from the Book of Kells, it can be modernized and used in many ways. In this workshop, you will learn how to hold the pen, correctly size the lines for spacing and practice the basic letter forms, working with dip pens and various fluids. Variations to the basic forms will also be offered. Complete a finished project that includes Celtic knotwork on handmade paper with gouache or watercolor. Handouts and a Digital Keynote presentation included. Supply list provided upon registration. All skill levels welcome. 1-day Uncial, 1-day Celtic Knots
