The Declaration of Independence
Ryan Thelen, looked high and low for life sized reproductions on genuine calfskin (originals were created on this), to display in his high school history classes, but they were no where to be found.
This remarkable reproduction of The Declaration of Independence, (and the Bill of Rights and the Constitution) was written and perfected by calligrapher Holly V. Monroe over the course of 3 years. Commissioned by history teacher Ryan Thelen, owner of PATRIGRAPHICA.COM and guided by the National Archives, Holly painstakingly reproduced the original writing of Timothy Matlock (supposed Engrosser) to look just like the original. As you may know, our Founding Document originals are fading around the edges, some due to the iron gall ink. Ryan invested thousands of dollars and much vacation time to research the writing, the calfskin, the reproduction and the history. Now, Holly shares with you Patrigraphica's Letterpress version.
